Christine Rogers-Raetsch

Chief People Officer, Duolingo

Christine Raetsch served as Duolingo’s first Chief People Officer for 5+ years. She helped the company grow to 500+ employees, successfully IPO, and safely return to the office (in addition to occasionally picking up dog poop in the office, cleaning tables and chairs for recruiting events, and processing payroll — ahh #startuplife). Since leaving Duolingo, Christine consults for Duolingo and pre-IPO startups, spends as much time outdoors as possible with her husband and dog Cola, and just generally tries to be like her father-in-law who does “what I want, when I want, where I want.” Prior to joining Duolingo Christine served at Vanguard for 20 years in a variety of leadership roles, most recently as the Global Head of Culture and Inclusion. She holds an M.A. in History and an M.B.A. from Villanova University.
